Transneft Diascan participated in the 22nd Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition – IRAN OIL SHOW 2017. The major oil&gas forum took place in Teheran (Iran) on May 6 – 9, 2017.

Transneft Diascan presented mockups of in-house pipeline inspection tools – ultrasonic flaw detector (WM) and combined magnetic-and-ultrasonic flaw detector (MFL+WM+CD).

The high-resolution ultrasonic flaw detector (WM) identifies the position and the size of such flaws as corrosion, lamination and groove. The principle of operation of the tool is based on the method of ultrasonic thickness measurement – sensors of the flaw detector scan the entire surface of a pipe and measure its thickness.

The combined magnetic-and-ultrasonic flaw detector is the flagship of the pipeline inspection equipment line, which is developed and manufactured by Transneft Diascan. Joining two main nondestructive testing methods in the same piece of equipment allows an efficient combination of their advantages, since the defects, which are nearly invisible when using one physical principal (e.g. ultrasonic) usually clearly visible when using the other (magnetic) one, and vice versa.

The Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition – IRAN OIL SHOW is getting more and more popular every year. Over 1,200 Iran and 880 foreign companies from 35 countries of the world participated in the show in 2016. More than three million people visited the exhibition over 4 days.
